ABOUT US

Naturally, women especially in West Africa and Nigeria in particular, when faced with challenges, rally round as a team to find solutions which are tremendous in results. As commendable as this has been, it is also sad to note that such sporadic efforts, though effective as a one-off intervention program are largely not sustainable because they emerged to meet particular pressing needs which tend to fizzle out as quickly as they were created.

The challenge, therefore, has been to create platforms and structures that are proactive rather than being reactive and temporal. Also over time, low literacy levels and poverty constantly militate against efforts o achieving sustainable empowerment.

To bridge the gap, the leadership of the women's guild having observed the poor state and failed strategic plans of the government created The Nehemiah Initiative, an NGO to compliment the church and government's efforts at the grassroots.

Nehemiah Care Givers Initiative is a registered indigenous Non-governmental Organization owned by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Women's Guild.

It is an association of persons, mostly women with a shared passion and commitment to touch lives and make a lasting positive difference in our society.
